Pictures & Poems #9
Sef alias -//\\- has made some wonderful poems to some of my pictures.
Here's a collection.

Finally Spring
by Lars

Melting mint candy leaves
oozing out from
frozen green icebuds;
Finally Spring arrives to
force winters dark trunk,
brittle branches, and
cold blue mist to melt away on
The warm wet tongue of May.

Abstract Clouds
by Lars

I see a standing snow bear,
a baby elephant from behind with
it's ears out like wings,
a baby duck
a fat, white penguin,
and assorted other unidentifiable
animals,
but no people!

A total failure, and yet
by Lars

Things that are broken are better
In many ways more REAL
Than things that are so very perfect that
They don't know what it is to FEEL! :-)

Unknown Art
by Lars

Not the sight of two visible eyes,
But the sight of one between
The one in the center of the one

The Weird eye of ART
The one in the center of the universe
The one through which is seen
All around and in between

The Potato Eater
by Lars

(Mr. SpudKing.)
...
What's happened to the poor fellow?
He is usually sweetly mild and mellow!
Here he looks all squinted and squeezed,
And I dare say a little bit displeased.
Still, no matter what,
When all is said and done,
Of all the foodstuffs in the world
He's right up there next to the bestest one!

Nothing is Real
by Lars

The reason nothing is real
is because that's what
everything is made of:
nothing.

Nothing is Real
by Lars

OH!
Nothing is real.
Not the roses,
Nor the green growing grass
Not a tree
Nor thee
Only these Beautiful Summer Weeds.!
Are real.
I think I see them therefore they are.

Nothing is Real
by Lars

Dr. Puddle's cleared the muddle
It's very plain to see
He's made it oh so clear
As clear as clear can be
That of all the many things
That's ever come to be,
Nothing's just as real
As real can really be!

Nothing is Real
by Lars

That is real. It's plain to see,
It's too doggone good not to be.
What real have to do,
To be called real?
Jump up and down,
Wave frantically and yell,
"YOOO_HOOO!
Look at me! I'm REAL!"

Shadows of Night
by Lars

Beware of the "Land of the Dead!"
Rub your knows on the backside of
your theatre ticket before you are
seated__ to protect yourself from
being discombobulated and drawn
into that dark land where all the
citizens are neither living nor dead!

Shadows of Night
by Lars

I cannot make light
of this art,
because here
you have painted
this perfect depiction of
a lifelong dream:
when at long last
it's time to die,
crumble down slowly
blend in with
earth's forest floor-
deliciously
into and with
crumbling leaves,
face turned down slightly
and to the right,
last breath filled with
the sweet aroma of
fresh rain filled breeze
and loamy leaves.

although he's facing up
that's good too,
there's still plenty of time
to look up at the sky
one last time.

Homage to Homer
by Lars

Even so the stone itself
Crumbles into dust
"Dust to dust" they say;
Time moves on as still it stands
Brimful of moonmist
Old stone memorials now so
slowly crumbling away into antiquity,
bring back to mind that one day in the past,
that saddest day of all sad days that saw him last
But now to our joy as we forward on fast
we find not a whit of time has truly passed...
...And Homer Lives On!

Variations
by Lars

There's something super
Special
about shinyness,
delicately spun
with colors found only
In themselves
Colors forming forms
never before seen.
Funny these things
don't grow on trees.
They would make little
tinkling sounds
softly in a breeze
But no.
Only the artist's hand
following endless mind
Can form shinyness itself
Into something that
Never grows on trees
Something softly shimmering
In mornings gentle breeze.

An Isle of Light
by Lars

Into the thick darkness of the woods
a pool of sunlight falls,
making a magnificent drama
where the voice of a
songbird calls
Leaves of trees sparkle green
their trunks glow bright and strong
The ferns and fronds on the forest floor
bask in it's warmth all day long...

---ooOoo---

I love the woods. The thicker the better. ... :-)
Of all the pleasurable beauties on land and sea,
there is none nor could there ever be
There's no place on earth more better to be
than in a forest that's near the sea. ... :-)

Almost Famous
by Lars

Almost famous!
On the edge
About to tumble
Over the ledge
That was the 99th monkey
Now one more to go
You'll be invited to court
For a one man show!

Dancingplace of the Fairies
by Lars

They hear your pan pipe every day,
The fairies run barefoot here and play
Your silent no-holed pipe's invisible music of mind
Makes this magical forest impossible to find... :-)

Kaleidoscope
by Lars

It's wonderful how good this looks in these colors!
And everybody better look twice or thrice! There's
more colors in there than first meets the eye.

Fractals
by Lars

The shapes are strings.
Very un-ordinarily ordinary
Strings. And those
CoLOrs!!
The colors and shapes
are out of this world.
They must've come from
some flag unfurled.
They must've been captured as
they traveled through space
They couldn't've been made by
members of the human race,
But if you lay out in the sun,
you'll feel them on your face...

Fractals
by Lars

I now can see it's plain to me
that fractals are one of those
Things Which
No matter how much I'm
told, no matter how much I try
I might never understand.
Fractal explanations flow over
my head like so much warm
water coming down from the
Shower Head.
Soothingly Hot.
Beautiful.
So Like Whitman with his stars,
I shall be here by myself,
and from time to time,
Look in perfect silence at these
fantastic fractals...
