Pictures & Poems #8
Sef alias -//\\- has made some wonderful poems to some of my pictures.
Here's a collection.

Meeting the Antiquity
by Lars

That one did not "go gently into that good night..."
It's as if some terrible calamity struck.
The battle raged on;
Blood ran like but thicker than water
until the earth was soaked red, yet
still that one did not concede defeat.
With unseeing eyes wide open
only he knows what it is he sees
Not one grain of sand is left
with which to bury his will
for that one was forced to give up his life
Long before he'd had his fill.

This one's Thinking
Thinking of Cloudland Canyon
About the waterfall falling
Into the Pool, the little round pool
Down in the bottom of the canyon
Filled with the heat of swirling ice-cold water
Churned up into whiteness by the agitation
Of that sweet, clean, clear falling water tumbling
down so chaotically upon, into, among, over, around,
Rocks.

Stone is stone is stone
Plants put down their roots in stone
Mind is open sky

Meeting the Antiquity (The Nose)

She exists in time
She's nothing special, she thinks
Doing daily chores
This old woman came from Trace
She lives in Antiquity

In letting go, getting lost
In Antiquity
Many scenes passed
A journey ended here:

Hordes of humanity
Made of one made of dust
Not just dust to dust,
But never ending processions

When you zoom in on them like that
It's plain to see all those people are dust
like everything
A bunch of dust floating around in space,
How come minds make dirt look like people?

I couldn't help but notice her lips
how beautiful they are.
how perfectly shaped her lips
as is her whole being and
how rock-solid,
down-to-earth dependable
is Aphrodite!

This one TAKES THE CAKE!!!
somehow you made this one come to LIFE!!!
no, it is not changed from
lifeless stone to flesh and blood.
it's still stone, but it's living stone.
Those eyes! Just look at the eyes.
I know only one eye is showing, but there definitely is
TWO..we can know there's two
(the look of that eye is totally fascinating.)

I wonder how to manipulate trees into being people...
Too beautiful for words
Are trees and people
It's like the people are trees
And the trees are people
Limbs and roots and veins and eyes
Rivers of fluids flowing
Standing tall and strong and alive
Each from it's seed be growing.
Into the earth invisible roots
Go deep and far and wide
Into the sky go limbs and leaves
Laying bones and flesh aside
Yet the circles go 'round and around
'Round and around they run,
People, trees, sunrise, sunset,
One be all and all be one.

"You have a heart of stone,"
they said.
"Yes, It's true I do,"
said I.

Transition
Where there before
Was only stone
Life slowly seeps in

In the middle of the night:
Household quiet and still
He lies awake in the dark
His mind a churning mill

Eventually every stone will crumble,
and when we Meet the Antiquity,
it is the future we greet
We could look with every ounce of
intensity we possess all day long, and
we would still never see all there is
there to see.
